Secondary School Teacher of the Year- 2010June Christensen-WildenFrom left to right: June Christensen-Wilden (Secondary Teacher of the Year) and Karinne Tharaldson Jones (principal, Clinton High School) June Christensen-Wilden has taught physical education at Clinton High School for 24 years and has made a significant impact on student learning within the physical education department as well our school district. She is an excellent teacher who is kind, considerate, hard-working, and genuine. June is slow to anger and very quick to praise. She is extremely knowledgeable and sets high expectations while making sure everyone meets them. June embraces the fact that her personality, coupled with her teaching abilities is a winning combination and her biggest asset. Her classes are innovative, educational, interesting, and just plain fun. Her students get excited about the activities she plans and they are truly involved in their learning. She has an ability to “connect with all types of learners. June possesses an innate intelligence complimented by the drive of self-motivation, which enables her to be a leader among Clinton High School’s teachers and coaches. She is an extremely dedicated and hard-working woman who is dependable, caring, and supportive. She truly is a positive role model for all students and teachers at CHS.
